Girls battle but come up short

The Whitman-Hanson girls basketball team suffered their first loss at New Bedford to fall to 2-1. Final score New Bedford 40 and Whitman-Hanson 33. Sophomore Marina Kelly led the Panthers with 8 points. Seniors Brittney Porter and MacKenzie Hatfield each chipped in 7 points. Junior Alyssa Eaton led the team defensively with 5 steals. New Bedford's Vanessa Suarez led all scorers with 20 points.

The team is back in action on Friday when they take on Bridgewater-Raynham at home.  Start time is 5pm as the boys will follow in a girls/boys doubleheader.
